The journey moves from the sophistication and freedom of jazz, through the groove and energy of funk, to a disco-led finale where all three styles converge. The repertoire combines original material with carefully selected pieces, exploring contrasting textures, rhythms and atmospheres as the music moves naturally from attentive listening to dancefloor energy.
Argentine-born bassist Gera D’Abundo is known for his dynamic playing across funk, jazz, soul and rock. Now based in Spain, he has performed internationally across Europe and Asia and continues to collaborate with artists and bands across a range of styles.
Italian pianist Marcello Cassanelli brings a contemporary jazz sensibility to the project, having released acclaimed 2018 album Overtour after completing a master’s degree in jazz. Together, D’Abundo and Cassanelli create a varied late-night experience where jazz, funk and disco meet.
